Summary

An area of possible cropmarks and soilmarks of uncertain date and archaeological significance were identified on the aerial photographs within this area. However, apart from a few fragmentary cropmarks to the south, the majority of features were felt to be of uncertain archaeological origin and possibly to relate to underlying periglacial and/or agricultural features. Possible rectilinear ditch-like features were visible within the northern part of the field in the 1940s and 50s, although it was felt that these most likely related to agricultural activity. Although the presence of archaeological features in the adjacent areas provides clear evidence of activity in the area. See NHER 15519 for earthworks recorded in the central area of this site.
