Summary

Nos. 190-192 Wootton Road were a pair of unusual semi-detached 1930s bungalows with an angled flat roof and external Art Deco details. It is thought that they were originally intended to be semi-detached houses, but for some reason they were never completed. A photographic record was made of these buildings in 2014, prior to their demolition.

Map

February 2014. Building Survey.
A photographic record was made of these unusual semi-detached bungalows ahead of their proposed demolition.
These buildings date to the 1930s and it is believed they were originally intended to be semi-detached houses but for some reason this was never completed. It is possible that their construction was disrupted by the outbreak of war in 1939. Externally they retained some Art Deco features but no such features survived internally.
See (S1) for further details and photographs.
P. Watkins (HES), 9 April 2018.

These buildings have now been demolished.
