Full Description
April 2018. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A probable Second World War hut or similar structure (perhaps two huts side by side) is visible as a structure on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The structure is visible on 1945 aerial photographs, and a concrete base or similar is visible on some more recent photographs (and on modern Ordnance Survey mapping), suggesting it may still survive. It may have been used as accommodation for troops training in the area, or for forestry workers. More Second World War huts have been recorded along the road 100m to the east (part of NHER 62121), but unlike this example these appear to have been removed at the end of the war.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 19 April 2018.
