Full Description
April 2018. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The earthworks of an oval mound of uncertain date and archaeological significance are visible on the aerial photographs (S1). It is possible it relates to Second World War activity associated with the nearby Barnham Camp (SHER BNH 054), although no corresponding feature is visible in the 1940s. It may represent an earlier feature, see NHER 55736 for nearby Roman finds and NHER 20429 for potential pot bolier mounds, or alternatively in may relate to mid twentieth century activity.
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 22 April 2018.
