Summary

In 2018 a possible quern stone fragment, large fragment of worked stone and blue glass bead as well as a post-medieval/modern musket ball and clay marble were recovered during works to the floor of a cottage in Roughton.

Undated possible quern stone fragment, large fragment of worked stone and blue glass bead.
Post-medieval/modern possible musket ball and clay marble.
These finds were not seen by HES. They were identified by the finder.
The finds were recovered by the occupants of a cottage during the replacement of a concrete floor. 0.28m was excavated through several earlier layers of floor and a worn brick feature was observed in an alcove. It may represent the threshold of a blocked in doorway.
