Summary

Trial trenching at this site in 2018 revealed no archaeologically significant features or deposits. A large hollow exposed in one of the trenches was interpreted as being either a natural feature or an infilled pond. A single medieval pottery sherd and post-medieval brick fragments were the only finds recovered.

Evaluation of proposed development site.
The two trenches excavated revealed a single large feature with a sterile fill interpreted as either a silted up natural hollow or the remains of a small pond. Groundwater was encountered during the excavation of this feature.
The small number of finds recovered included a single sherd of medieval pottery and two post-medieval brick fragments.
