December 2018. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A small circular enclosure, of unknown but probable post-medieval date, is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a lidar survey flown in 2015 (S1). It is one of several similar enclosures mapped across this portion of Thetford Warren (NHER 54069; see NHER 61551 305m to the northeast and NHER 61554 500m to the northwest). Like other, similar enclosures mapped elsewhere in the wider landscape, and the many rectilinear enclosures of similar size that have also been mapped, it is likely that it relates to warrening. An external L-shaped bank to its south, which is also visible as an earthwork, may be a contemporary feature. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is likely that the earthworks still survive.
