Summary

This station was built in response to an Act of 1880 which authorised the Lynn and Fakenham Railway to terminate at Austin Street near Garland's Yard. By 1882 the land at Austin Street had been acquired, levelled and fenced and the station buildings begun. However, the Austin Street depot was never opened as a station but railway company offices were established there.

This station was built in response to an Act of 1880 which authorised the Lynn and Fakenham Railway to leave the Hunstanton and West Norfolk Railway 120 yards south of Gaywood Road Junction, branch off westwards, cross the Dock line with a junction and terminate at Austin Street near Garland's Yard. By 1882 the land at Austin Street had been acquired, levelled and fenced and the station buildings begun. However, the Austin Street depot was never opened as a station but railway company offices were established there.
