Map

March 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Boundaries and blocks of probable plantation ridges, of post-medieval to modern date, are visible as earthworks on imagery from a lidar survey flown in 2015 (S1). Many of the boundaries correspond with those depicted on the Tithe Map (S2), or historical Ordnance Survey maps (S3-S4). The blocks of ridges, which have been mapped only by extent, appear to be contemporary with at least one phase of boundaries, but do not conform to the planting pattern visible on the consulted aerial photographs taken from the 1940s onwards (those that do have not been mapped). As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that the earthworks still survive.
