Summary

Archaeological work at this site between 2008 and 2010 uncovered little of interest. Trial trenching in 2008 revealed no archaeologically significant features or deposits and a watching brief maintained during subsequent groundworks in 2009/2010 had similarly negative results.

Full Description

September-November 2008. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site on proposed route of Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection cable (Trenches 26-28).
The three trenches excavated in this field revealed no archaeologically significant features or deposits.
No finds were recovered.
The subsoil layer present was seen as potentially evidence for medieval open-field agriculture.

2009-2010. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of topsoil stripping and other groundworks associated with installation of the Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection cable.
No archaeologically significant remains observed and no finds recovered.
