Summary

Archaeological work at this site between 2008 and 2010 revealed no significant features or deposits. Trial trenching in 2008 revealed a single linear feature that was interpreted as a possible furrow. The presence of this feature and a thick subsoil layer were seen as evidence of medieval open-field agriculture. A watching brief maintained during subsequent groundworks in 2009/2010 had similarly negative results, with no archaeologically significant remains observed. No finds were recovered during either phase of work.
