Summary

A fieldwalking and metal-detecting survey of part of this field in 2008 recovered prehistoric worked flints; medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval and post-medieval coins and a small number of other post-medieval and undatable metal objects.

March-April 2008. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection (Field 53).
Finds recovered included:
2 prehistoric retouched flint flakes.
1 medieval coin and 2 pottery sherds.
1 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd.
1 post-medieval coin, 2 pottery sherds, 1 crotal bell, 1 thimble, 2 copper alloy buttons, 2 copper alloy rivets and 1 copper alloy unidentified object.
1 undatable copper alloy fitting and 3 copper alloy unidentified objects.
The south-west area of this field contains undated cropmarks (NHER 32245) and it was in this location that medieval pottery and a medieval coin were recovered.
