Full Description
King's Head Inn.
December 1973. Listed, Grade II.
See (S1).
February 1975. Field Observation.
Visited by E. Rose (NAU).
Listed. Flint and brick. Pantile and slate roof. Round headed windows to road. Does not have a stepped gable, despite what listing says, but an attempt at a shaped gable towards the river, on which basis it is called 17th century, but all now visible outside is 19th century.

Excerpt of current Listing Description (revised 1986):
"Public House. 17th century and later. Painted brick and flint with pantile roofs. Range facing road: One storey becoming two to south owing to fall in ground...Steeply pitched hipped roof returns to south to continue original building, the plan now obscured by later two-storey gabled extension to east. Two-storey south front much altered. Two-storey wing to right with four sash windows with glazing bars...Rubble and pantile outbuilding to right also included."
