NHER 63596 (Monument record) - Undated possible ditch and pit

May 2018. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed route of Lound to Gorleston Water Pipeline (Trenches 6-7).
The northernmost of the two trenches excavated at this location revealed an east-to-west aligned shallow possible ditch that was potentially a continuation of a feature associated with one of several, parallel, similarly-aligned cropmarks recorded to the east (NHER 45154). No finds were recovered.
Although the southern trench was opened immediately to the west of a group of north-east to south-west and north-west to south-east aligned cropmarks (NHER 45189), no potentially associated features were exposed.
The single discrete feature was an undated possible pit exposed in the northern trench.
