Full Description
October 2019. Metal-detecting. [1].
Found approximately 147m apart [2]:
Medieval coin hoard comprising 2 gold coins (a leopard of Edward III and a noble of Edward III, both folded in half).
These coins were issued within 10 years of each other, which, coupled with their high values, makes it likely they represent a purse loss or part of a concealed hoard. Their condition suggests a date of loss or concealment of c.1351-1375.

These coins were declared Treasure at inquest (Ref: 2020 T40) but returned to the landowner after a museum was unable to acquire them. The gold leopard was subsequently sold at auction - see press articles (S1)-(S4).
