This is the site of a ropewalk, marked on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25-inch map surveyed in 1884. A map drawn in 2001, cited in (S2) and reproduced in (S3) depicting the area in 1905 marks this as 'site of Corporation Ropewalk'.
