Full Description
This is the site of a 'New Burial Ground' obtained for the parish of St Margaret in 1805. The burial ground was laid out and a new chapel erected at a cost of £697. It was superseded in 1855 by the Hardwick Road cemetery (NHER 33509).
Information from (S1).
(S2) shows the extent of this burial ground in 1846 and also shows a chapel located at approximately TF 6216 1992.
Some of the human skeletal remains found around the site of St James' Chapel (NHER 5484) may be from this cemetery.
