Full Description
Before 26 August 2010. Stray Find.
Surface find at unrecorded location in vicinity of Hall Farm, Wacton:
Prehistoric stone hammer or macehead with hour-glass perforation. Made from exotic stone of uncertain origin. Perforation made by pecking rather than drilling. Had probably been used as a hammer as battered and flattened at one end.
These items are not considered closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
Identified by P. Robins (NCM), October 2010. See description in file [1].
P. Watkins (HES), 13 April 2020.
