Full Description
August 2020. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of front and side extensions to residential dwelling.
Although both of the two foundation trenches excavated revealed natural deposits nothing of archaeological interest was exposed. The only feature observed was a modern soakaway filled with 20th-century brick fragments.
Unstratified finds were limited to a single post-medieval clay tobacco pipe stem fragment and small pieces of modern brick and tile (none retained).
See report (S1) for further details.
