Map

Before 1930.
Medieval carved architectural stone fragment. Inscribed with 'Adornata Tempore Maioraltis Henrici Crowe Armigeri, 1679.'
This fragment was recovered from the garden terrace of the Plantation Garden, Earlham Road, Norwich (NHER 26396).
Information from Newspaper article (S1).
(S1) also suggests that the stone originated from St Giles' Gate (NHER 26171), which was demolished in 1792. This is corroborated by website (S2), which says that an 1864 sketch by H Ninham, based on an earlier sketch of 1720, shows such a carved and inscribed stone set above the archway of St Giles Gate.
