Map

September-October 2010. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of proposed development area (Field 3).
This survey revealed no anomalies of obvious archaeological significance.
Although a number of linear anomalies were detected all clearly correspond with former field boundaries depicted on the Wymondham tithe map of 1839 (S1).
Although several more discrete areas of magnetic disturbance were also identified none are thought to be of archaeological interest. At least one coincides with a former pond depicted on early Ordnance Survey maps, such as (S2).
See report (S3) for further details. The results of this work are also summarised in (S4).
P. Watkins (HES), 10 February 2021.

September-October 2019. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of area to west of block examined in 2010 (Area 7).
Three linear anomalies were identified, all of which correspond with boundaries on the Wymondham tithe map (S1).
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
