World War One Memorial with World War Two Additions
Location: Approximately 85m north-east of St Catherine's Church, The churchyard, Norwich Road, Ludham.
Type: Wheel-head Cross
Description:
The memorial is constructed from red granite, in the form of a freestanding, polished, wheel-head cross. It is used to commemorate eleven members of the local community who died in World War One, and latterly four men who died in World War Two. It is described as “riding from a tapering plinth that stands on a single-stepped red granite base. The whole is supported by a three-stepped concrete base” (S1). There are inscriptions on the plinth. The former World War One dedication is to the front, with eleven associated names (Inscription A). The latter World War Two dedication is to one side, along with four associated names (Inscription B). The memorial was relocated into the churchyard following a road widening scheme.

Inscription B: 1939 – 1945/ (4 NAMES).
