Full Description
May 2015. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The three trenches excavated revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
As at the site immediately to the north (NHER 55312) natural geological deposits were overlain by a surviving subsoil later. In two of the trenches modern activity had however resulted in the partial truncation of this deposit and the complete remove of the overlying topsoil. There was though no indication that this activity had removed or disturbed archaeological remains.
No finds were recovered.
See report (S1) for further details.
