Map

May 2019. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of part of large proposed development area (Area 2).
Much of the field was unsurveyable due to the presence of overgrown grass and nettles.
No anomalies of archaeological significance were detected in the area it was possible to examine in the northern half of the field.
Information from interim report.
P. Watkins (HES), 20 May 2021.

October 2019/January 2020. Geophysical Survey,
Magnetometer survey of part of large proposed development area (Area 2).
Entire field survey in better conditions.
The response of potential interest was a somewhat sinuous east-to-west aligned linear anomaly of uncertain origin at the northern end of the field.
A north-north-east to south-south-west aligned linear anomaly to the south corresponds with a former field boundary depicted on the Hethersett tithe map (S1).
The majority of the other anomalies were either of probable agricultural origin or likely to have been caused by ferrous debris.
See report (S2) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 20 May 2021.
