Location: The churchyard, All Saints Church, Church Road, Tilney All Saints.
Description:
The memorial is constructed from stone, in the form of a freestanding wheel-head cross fleury. It is used to commemorate thirteen members of the local community who died in World War One, and latterly three men who died in World War Two. The cross is described as “rising from the collar of a slender cross shaft, octagonal in section. A shield is carved on the front face of the collar, bearing the monogram IHS. The cross shaft stands on a small shouldered pedestal, square on plan, that stands on a two-step octagonal plinth” (S1). There are inscriptions on slate panels inset into the pedestal sides (S4). The former World War One dedication is to the front face (Inscription A), with dates and thirteen associated names listed to another face (Inscription B).
