Summary

Metal-detecting at this location in 2020 recovered a small group of three post-medieval coins likely to represent a dispersed purse loss. These had been minted between 1553 and 1575 and had probably been lost before 1600.

Found within a metre of each other:
3 post-medieval silver coins of Mary and Elizabeth I - almost certainly a dispersed purse loss. These coins had been minted between 1553 and 1575 and were probably entered the ground not long after - c.1580-1600.
