Summary

A watching brief maintained during the demolition of a substation at this site in 2019 recorded nothing of interest. It should though be noted that the groundworks were very shallow, with only a recent layer of consolidating made ground exposed.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with demolition of substation.
These works had minimal impact, with the removal of the substation's concrete floor and foundations revealing only a layer of presumably relatively recent consolidating made ground. No archaeologically-significant deposits were exposed.
No finds were recovered.
An archive associated with this work has been deposited with Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2023.106).
