Map

December 2020 and January 2021. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The 14 trenches excavated revealed three features, all of which lay in the north-western part of the site. One appeared to be a north-east to south-west aligned ditch and the other two were provisionally interpreted as a possible pit and a palaeochannel. Unfortunately high groundwater levels meant that the trenches flooded before any of the features could be investigated.
No finds were recovered.
See report (S1) for further details.
