Map

August 2018. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of proposed development site.
This survey identified a number of discrete anomalies of uncertain origin that may represent archaeologically-significant remains.
Although a number of linear responses were present these are mostly groups of parallel anomalies likely to be either drainage features or agricultural in origin. Recent aerial imagery suggests that a north-east to south-west anomaly was associated with the construction of an underground service. A single east-to-west aligned linear anomaly towards the southern end of the site was regarded as being of uncertain origin (and therefore potentially archaeologically significant).
Areas of magnetic disturbance at the margins of the field and scattered discrete dipolar anomalies were probably caused by ferrous material within the topsoil, most likely modern debris.
See report (S1) for further details.
