Full Description
January 2022. Broads Hidden Heritage: Aerial Perspectives.
A possible oval enclosure, perhaps the site of a Neolithic long barrow or mortuary enclosure, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1). The archaeological significance of the feature is uncertain; it could instead be a reflection of the underlying geology. The southern side of the enclosure appears to overlie or coincide with a natural feature, possibly a former watercourse, which is also visible as a cropmark. A few other cropmarks are visible in the surrounding field, but these appear to be either geological in origin, post medieval field boundaries or recent agricultural activity.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk County Council, Historic Environment Service), 18 January 2022.
