Map

August 2015. Trial Trench.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The 15 trenches excavated revealed a number of ditches and postholes, all of which appeared to be modern features associated with recent activity on the site (which had previously been occupied by Dell Rose Nursery greenhouses and subsequently used as horse paddocks).
All of the nine ditches exposed were observed to contain modern ceramic building material and/or modern pottery and as a result most were not sample excavated. These features were all aligned either north-east to south-west or north-west to south-west.
The post-holes identified were also found to contain modern objects.
No finds were retained.
Information from report uploaded to OASIS. HER copy awaited.
The archive associated with this work has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.604).
