Summary

Metal-detecting at this location in 2022 recovered 16 Roman copper alloy coins likely to represent part of a dispersed hoard or purse loss. They were probably lost or deposited at some time between c. AD 180 and 260.

Found in the same area:
16 Roman coins likely to represent part of a dispersed hoard or purse loss. These copper alloy coins are mostly identifiable as sestertii but are extremely heavily corroded, making their details illegible. The exact date of deposition/loss is therefore uncertain, lying anywhere between c. AD 180 and 260.
