Summary

A watching brief maintained during limited groundworks at this site in 2013 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. It appears that that a subsequent phase of monitoring undertaken in 2019/2020 had similarly negative results.

September 2013. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of new residential dwelling and associated structures.
The various footing trenches excavated revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. Unstratified finds were limited to two retouched flint flakes of probable Late Neolithic or Bronze Age date, both of which were recovered from a spoil heap.

October 2019-March 2020. Watching Brief.
A second phase of monitoring was undertaken during the construction of three additional residential dwellings (Plots 2-4).
It appears that the results of this work were also negative.
