Full Description
September 2015. Strip, Map and Sample Excavation.
Excavation of relatively small rectangular area within footprint of new pumping station.
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits were identified and no finds were recovered. Two discrete features investigated were both deemed to be of natural origin.
A reasonably thick, undisturbed subsoil deposit lay beneath the topsoil.
Due to these negative results no further archaeological mitigation was deemed necessary in the site's wider working area.
See report (S1) for further details.
