NHER 65938 (Monument record) - Cropmarks of undated rectangular enclosures

Field west of Vong Farm.
Covered with cropmarks of superimposed small rectangular and long narrow enclosures, concentrated especially in north-east corner and to south along road.
These cropmarks are apparently visible on aerial photographs taken in 1974 and 1977 (S1).

July 2022. Aerial Imagery Interpretation.
Elements of this cropmark group are clearly visible on undated (but almost certainly recent) Apple Maps aerial imagery seen on the Grid Reference Finder website (S3) [1]. A particular dense group of north-to-south and east-to-west aligned ditches can be seen in the vicinity of TF 70794 22250, which clearly formed as series of rectilinear fields or enclosures. A number of similarly-aligned linear cropmarks are also visible to the south-east, in the vicinity of Vong Farm.

The mapped extent of this record is largely that of NHER 3599 at the point the cropmarks were moved [2], although it has been extended eastwards to fully encompass the cropmarks noted in 2022.
