Full Description
August 2022. Casual Observation[1].
Several artefacts were recovered during monitoring of Neatherd duck pond for the Norfolk Ponds Project.
Two fragments of heat-crazed flint were recovered from the [surface?] of the north side of the pond. These are likely of later Prehistoric date and relate to the hearth of possible Bronze Age date (NHER 2842) discovered approximately 30m to the northwest whilst digging wartime trenches.
A bullet casing from a fired .303 round was also recovered from the mud. This is likely of World War Two date.
See photographs (S1).
