Summary

An earthwork mound is seen on aerial photographs and recent (2017) visualised lidar data. The mound has also been recorded form field visits. The mound may relate to a post medieval landscape garden feature associated with Bolwick hall and garden (NHER 7523 and 44782). An undated earthwork mound (see above) is seen on aerial photographs and recent (2017) visualised lidar data (S1-S2). A possible associated section of ditch can also be seen on the visualised lidar data. The mound and ditch may relate to a post medieval landscape garden feature associated with Bolwick hall and park (NHER 7523 and 44782). The mound has been previously suggested to relate to medieval settlement and a possible Bronze Age barrow, although, these interpretations are less likely. It is also possible that the mound may be natural in origin. Further mounds have been recorded within the park to the south and west (NHER 11276, 64312 64313, 64314). The feature is not recorded the readily available historic maps (such as S3). The monument polygon has been updated.
