Map

November 2017-March 2018. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with installation of Anglian Water Overstrand to Mundesley pipeline.
Although natural sands and gravels were exposed along much of this section of the working easement only a single feature was recorded. This north-east to south-west aligned ditch was found to contain 'early modern' pottery (not retained) and appears to have coincided with a former field boundary depicted on the Northrepps tithe map of 1840 (S1).
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
An archive associated with this work has been deposited with Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2019.248).
