Full Description
May 2021. Aerial Investigation and Mapping.
Examination of available aerial imagery and lidar data for proposed route of Anglian Water Bexwell to Bury St Edmunds pipeline.
A rectilinear cropmark of uncertain nature is visible on recent Google Earth imagery of this location (S1). This has been interpreted as a compartmented rectilinear enclosure, although its form is quite irregular and the associated cropmarks fairly indistinct. It is suggested that it could represent a Roman villa or farmstead but this seems unlikely.
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
