October 2021. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of part of large proposed development area (Area 17).
This survey identified two fragmentary linear anomalies at the eastern end of the field that potentially represent infilled ditches; one aligned north-west to south-east and the other roughly east-to-west. A strong north-to-south aligned linear anomaly is likely to represent a modern service, most likely one that had been installed to serve the World War Two airfield that had lain to the south (NHER 8170).
A number of weak discrete anomalies at the western end of the field are regarded as being of uncertain origin and may therefore represent archaeologically-significant remains, although a natural origin is also possible.
See report (S2) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 8 November 2023.

March 2022. Desk-based Assessment.
Updated archaeological assessment of large proposed development.
See report (S3) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 7 March 2023.
