July 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A low earthwork bank (see above) which may have related to a section of a post medieval road is seen on recent (2017) visualised lidar data (S1). The feature consists of a low earthwork bank aligned approximately northeast- southwest and travels for approximately 600m. The earthwork may be a continuation of a section of road mapped on Faden’s map of Norfolk (S2). The road is not recorded on later available historic maps (for example S3-S5). The origin and location of the aerial photograph (AO 462) discussed above (see above) is uncertain. The aerial photograph was therefore unavailable at the time of survey and has not been consulted as part of this project.
