Summary

A watching brief maintained during the construction of a new dwelling at this location in 2016 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. It was clear that considerable disturbance had been caused by the recent demolition of a mid-20th-century bungalow that had previously occupied the site.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of single detached dwelling.
The footing trenches excavated for this new house revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. A natural boulder clay was exposed beneath between 0.4m and 0.6m of mixed topsoil. It was clear that considerable disturbance had been caused by the recent demolition of a mid-20th-century bungalow that had previously occupied the site.
