Full Description
September 2016. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of part of large proposed development site.
An east-to-west aligned linear anomaly at the southern end of this site corresponds with a sinuous drainage channel shown on the South Wootton tithe map (S1). Another, more discrete anomaly corresponds with a pond shown at the eastern end of this feature.
Much of the area to the north is covered by a broad area of contrasted sinuous banding likely to represent a zone of tidal flat deposits. More coherent linear anomalies at the margins of this area may represent earlier drainage features.
See report (S2) for further details.
