Map

The below features were previously recorded as part of NHER 31740.

August 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a possible Later Prehistoric trackway are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The trackway appears to respect the site of a possible Neolithic long barrow (NHER 31740). Sections of the trackway can be seen heading north and south from the site of the possible long barrow. The sections of trackway appear to abut rather than cross the feature. The trackway has previously (see NHER 31740) been suggested to relate to a cursus. Although this interpretation is possible, the form of the feature is more similar to a trackway than a cursus. The trackway is also within an area of medieval to post mediaeval field boundaries (NHER 65791). Therefore, a later, possible medieval to post medieval date, cannot be ruled out.
