Map

The below feature was previously recorded as part of NHER 31739

August 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Sections of a fragmented trackway of a possible Bronze Age to Roman date can be seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The date of the trackway is uncertain. It is possible that the trackway is Bronze Age to Roman in date, although, a later medieval to post medieval date cannot be ruled out. The trackway appears to respect the site of a probable Bronze Age barrow (NHER 31739) recorded approximately 2m to the east of the trackway. The trackway may be overlain by the cropmarks of a possible medieval open field boundary (NHER 65786) and is cut by a modern field boundary (centred at approximately TG 2283 2604) in the south of the record.
