Full Description
September 2019. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of part of proposed development site (Phase 2; Trenches 21-24).
The four trenches excavated at this location revealed only a single north-east to south-west aligned ditch. Although this produced no finds a ceramic pipe was revealed at it's base, indicating that it was of late post-medieval or modern date.
There was evidence for considerable recent disturbance at this site, with modern made-ground layers lying directly above the natural geological deposits.
