Summary

Map

A probable medieval to post medieval plough headland and furlong boundary is visible as a low, sinuous earthwork on visualised lidar data (S1), and as a soilmark on aerial photographs (S2). As the lidar survey was flown in 2017, it is probable that the earthwork still survives. Several linear earthworks are visible in this area on the visualised lidar data, most of which correspond with field boundaries depicted on 19th century maps (such as Marsham Tithe map, S3). The recorded feature is distinctive, for its length and sinuous outline, and for not corresponding with a boundary on the consulted maps.
