Summary

This terrace of 12 yellow brick two-storey houses dates to the early to mid 19th century. Each has a basement and two also have an attic. The garden in the front of these properties is a rare survival of a 19th-century communal garden (NHER 26483).

Listing Description excerpt:
"Terrace of 12 houses. Early/mid 19th century. Yellow brick; slate roof; twelve brick ridge chimneys. Two storeys and basement; Nos. 57 and 59 also with an attic. Twenty-four first floor windows, symmetrical. Two steps up to each door with six raised and fielded panels (some glazed), alternating with 16-pane sash windows under flat gauged brick arches. Central doors are paired. Overlights have decorative glazing bars in panelled reveals flanked by fluted Doric half-columns with dentilled hoods. No.69 has large-paned sash windows. Four central bays project slightly with a pediment over Nos. 57 and 59 containing two round headed attic windows. Rendered cornice and parapet."
