Map

January 2014. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
Three features were recorded in the westernmost of the four trenches excavated. These included two ditches; one aligned east-north-east to west-south-west and the other north-north-east to south-south-west. Finds were limited to a single sherd of late post-medieval/modern porcelain recovered from the former, although it is noted that the fills of both features contained fragments of red brick. These ditches were probably post-medieval although neither corresponds with any of the former boundaries depicted on the available 19th-century maps. The pit was a reasonably substantial feature that contained single fragments of post-medieval pottery and clay tobacco pipe stem.
Information from report uploaded to OASIS. HER copy awaited.
