Summary

A watching brief maintained during limited groundworks at this site in 2016 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. A small number of medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval finds were recovered from the Victorian deposits that were disturbed.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of new conservatory on south side of Park House.
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits were recovered, with the limited groundworks disturbing only Victorian garden soils and make-up deposits associated with the construction of Park House in the late 19th century.
Finds recovered included a residual pottery sherd of 15th- to 16th-century date, several post-medieval pottery sherds and a fragment of a decorated clay tobacco pipe.
